#20 Panthers Top #24 Polar Bears 153-120 In Home Opener

Pentony won the 100 and 200 backstroke.
The 20th-ranked Middlebury women's swimming and diving team opened the year with a 153-120 victory over #24 Bowdoin at home.
 
HIGHLIGHTS
  • The Panthers were led by Emma Hall, Chloe Katz and Isabel Pentony who each collected a pair of first-place finishes.
  • Hall stopped the clock in 1:06.82 in the 100-yard breaststroke and recorded a winning time of 2:25.19 in the 200 breaststroke. 
  • Katz claimed the top spot in the 500 freestyle (5:09.75) and the 1,000 free (10:31.25).
  • Rounding out the dual winners was Pentony, clocking in at a blistering 59.85 in the 100 backstroke, while also claiming the 200 back (2:07.99).
  • Chloe Bautista touched the wall first in the 100 butterfly, clocking in at 59.18.
  • Also garnering top honors was Louise Hay, touching the wall in 1:56.63 to claim the 200 free. 
NOTES
  • Katz has won the 500 free at each of Middlebury's three meets this season, and has claimed the top spot in the 1,000 in both of her appearances in the event. In total, Katz has seven individual and one relay victory during the campaign thus far.
  • Hall has won the 200 breaststroke in all three meets this winter.
The Panthers continue their homestand next weekend, hosting Colby on Saturday and Bates on Sunday for Senior Day.
