20th-Ranked Middlebury Defeats #22 Dickinson 6-3

Gabe Thin continued his fine start to the season, winning his fourth match in as many tries.
The #20 Middlebury men's squash team claimed its fourth win in as many matches, defeating 22nd-ranked Dickinson 6-3 on Saturday afternoon.
 
HIGHLIGHTS
  • Will Quigley (#9) and David Zhao (#6) each cruised to sweeps to give the Panthers a 2-0 edge.
  • The Red Devils cut the deficit to one (2-1) with a victory in the third slot. 
  • Charlie Clifford claimed an 11-1, 11-2, 11-2 triumph at the eighth spot, defeating his opponent in just 13 minutes to make it 3-1.
  • In the fourth slot, Kian Kardestuncer increased the Middlebury lead to 4-1 with a straight-game triumph (11-8, 11-7, 11-9). 
  • Dickinson halved the Panther lead with a win in the second spot, but Alex Stimpson answered with an 11-1, 13-11, 11-1 triumph at #7 to clinch the match for Middlebury.
  • Gabe Thin rushed past his opponent in three games (11-7, 11-6, 11-4) to make it 6-2, before the Red Devils secured a victory at the top of the ladder to bring the final score to 6-3.
NOTES
  • Alexis Ballo eased to a 11-2, 11-7, 11-4 victory in the exhibition match at #10.
  • The first-year trio of Clifford, Thin and Zhao are all undefeated, with Clifford and Thin each tallying four victories on the season.
  • Stimpson also boasts an undefeated 4-0 mark this year.
  • The programs played for the fifth time with the Panthers winning four of the five contests.
Middlebury will wrap up its weekend matches with a home contest against #19 Franklin & Marshall on Sunday at 11:00 a.m.
