#13 Women’s Squash Sees Nine-Match Winning Streak Come To An End

Sabrina Schwarz tallied Middlebury's lone victory this afternoon.
The 13th-ranked Middlebury women's squash team saw their nine-match winning streak come to an end, falling 8-1 at 11th-ranked Tufts on Sunday. The nine-consecutive victories tied for a program best, as the Panthers now own a 11-2 record.
 
HIGHLIGHTS
  • The Jumbos kicked off the match with a sweep at the top of the ladder. 
  • Mariana Reedich and Abby Holding each battled their opponents to five games, but were defeated in the eighth and fourth slots to give the hosts a 3-0 lead.
  • Tufts earned a victory at #3 and clinched the match with a triumph in the fifth slot to make it 5-0.
  • The Jumbos moved ahead 7-0 with wins at #7 and #5, before Sabrina Schwarz got Middlebury on the board with a 11-5, 11-8, 11-9 victory in the second slot.
  • Tufts closed the match with a tightly-contested five-game win at the bottom of the ladder to make it 8-1.
The Panthers return to action on Sunday when it hits the road to face #17 Amherst at 2:00 p.m.
