The 20th-ranked Middlebury men's squash team tallied the last four points of Sunday's match, pulling away for a 7-2 victory over #17 Hobart on Senior Day.
HIGHLIGHTS
- The Panthers grabbed the first point at #9 when Charlie Clifford swept his opponent by scores of 11-6, 11-6, 11-5.
- The Statesmen knotted the match with a three-game victory in the second slot.
- Middlebury surged ahead by two (3-1) with a come-from-behind triumph by Kian Kardestuncer in the middle of the ladder (4-11, 11-4, 11-9, 11-7), followed with a sweep from David Zhao at #8 (11-9, 15-13, 11-8).
- Hobart sliced the deficit to one (3-2) with a four-game decision in the third slot.
- The hosts rattled off the last four points of the match to secure the victory. PK Keller won a tightly-contested four-game contest at #6 (11-6, 10-12, 11-9, 11-7), followed by a sweep from Gabe Thin one spot down the ladder (11-3, 11-9, 11-7) to clinch the match.
- Nathan Feinstein lost two of the first three games in his match at the top spot, but rebounded for a 7-11, 11-4, 7-11, 11-8, 11-6 triumph that lasted 53 minutes.
- Theo Kogan completed the scoring with a 3-1 victory in the fourth slot (11-7, 5-11, 11-6, 11-8) for the final 7-2 score.

- Prior to the match, the Panthers honored seniors Keller, Kian Lalji and Alex Stimpson for their efforts and hard work they have dedicated to the program.
- Keller's triumph was the 40th of his career.
- Zhao continued his hot streak to begin his collegiate career, improving to 9-0 with seven of those triumphs coming in three games.
- Stimpson earned a 3-0 triumph during Sunday's exhibition match.
- The programs played for the sixth time with Middlebury winning every contest.
The Panthers take to the road for a match on Friday against Brown. The contest will be played at the Moses Brown School in Providence, Rhode Island.
