#20 Women’s Swimming and Diving Eases To 160-55 Victory Over Union

Molly Nordquist earned a victory in the 200-yard freestyle.
The Middlebury women's swimming and diving team claimed victories in 11 events to ease to a 160-55 triumph over Union on Saturday.
 
HIGHLIGHTS
  • In the opening event of the day, the 200-yard medley relay team of Maddy Reid, Emma Hall, Evelyn Buetow and Louise Hay claimed the top spot, touching the wall in 1:50.56.
  • Mia Zottola cruised to a win in the 1,000 freestyle with a time of 11:03.60. Zottola won the event by nearly 15 seconds.
  • In the 200 free, Molly Nordquist touched the wall in 1:58.84 to earn a victory.
  • Hay picked up an individual triumph in the 50 free (25.55), while Avery Maxwell eased to a win in the 100 free (54.95).
  • In the 200 butterfly, Buetow led a group of four Panthers to the wall, claiming the event with a time of 2:10.58.
  • Hannah Baumgartner was the quickest finisher in the 200 individual medley (IM) with a clocking of 2:11.22.
  • Isabel Pentony finished first in the 200 back, touching the wall in 2:08.76. 
  • Hall claimed the victory in the 200 breaststroke (2:25.64).
  • Leading the way in the 500 free was Chloe Katz, who won the event with a time of 5:16.47.
  • Pai Easterbrook scored victories in both the one-meter (198.38 points) and three-meter (210.44 points) diving events.
  • In the final event of the day, the quartet of Hay, Katz, Maxwell and Baumgartner secured the top spot in the 400 free relay, clocking in at 3:39.99.
Middlebury returns to the pool on January 27 when it competes in a tri-meet at Hamilton with Williams.
