Middlebury Claims Third Place At Colby Carnival

Logan Moore finished just one spot off the podium in the 20K classic.
The Middlebury alpine and nordic ski team finished third overall at the Colby Carnival. Dartmouth claimed the top spot with 912.5 points, while the University of Vermont was second (783 points) and the Panthers rounded out the top three (729 points).
 
NORDIC HIGHLIGHTS
  • Logan Moore was Middlebury's top finisher in the 20K classic, crossing the line in fourth place with a time of 54:55.7, just nine seconds behind the leader.
  • Jack Christner was just two spots behind Moore, finishing seventh with a clocking of 56:23.9.
  • Rounding out the scorers for the Panthers was Mason Wheeler who moved up eight places over the final 10K to secure 12th place (57:09.2).
  • On the women's side, Shea Brams raced to a fifth-place showing, completing the course in 1:04:00.7.
  • Sofia Scirica finished 10th (1:06:51.3), climbing two spots over the final 2.5K, while Mica Bodkins crossed the finish line in 1:07:15.7 to earn 15th place.
ALPINE HIGHLIGHTS
  • Katie Fynn led the way for the Panthers in the slalom event, placing fifth with a two-run time of 1:39.78.
  • Just six one-hundreths of a second behind Fynn was Mika-Anne Reha, claiming sixth place with a combined time of 1:39.84.
  • Tatum Coutu was Middlebury's third scorer, completing her two trips down the mountain in 1:45.57 to secure 24th place.
  • In the men's slalom, Charlie Lang was the Panthers' highest finisher, placing 10th with a two-run clocking of 1:42.02.
  • Sebastian Segre finished in 19th with his two trips down the mountain totaling 1:42.93, while Will Trudeau rounded out the scorers, placing 28th (1:46.54).
NOTES
  • Moore's place in the 20K classic was his highest finish of the year thus far.
  • Fynn's showing in the slalom was the first top-five finish of her collegiate career.
  • The men's nordic team finished as runners-up in the 20K classic, while the women's alpine team claimed third place in the slalom.
The Middlebury alpine ski team is back in action next weekend to wrap up the Vermont Carnival. The nordic squad competed in their portion last weekend, as Middlebury sits in second place.
