The Middlebury women's cross country team came out of the starting gates strong and never looked back en route to a commanding victory at the Aldrich Invitational. The Panthers recorded 15 points to earn the crown, with second-place finisher Norwich tallying 50 points.

HIGHLIGHTS

• The first runner across the finish line for Middlebury was Audrey MacLean, stopping the clock in 23:40.6 to claim the top-scoring spot, while placing third overall.
• Violet Ross was next in 24:36.1, while Tatum Peskin was close behind with a time of 24:44.5.
• Sheldyn Fisher and Winnie Wang rounded out the scoring spots for Middlebury, placing fourth (24:54.8) and fifth (25:00.7), respectively. 
• Finishing in places eight through 13 were Keegan McAuliffe, Stephanie Renouf, Caroline VanSchaick, Kate Ratcliffe, Lily Bulczynski and Lucca Franz.  

NOTES

• Cassie Kearney '22 and Phoebe Colvin Oehmig '21 led the pack, finishing in first (23:00.7) and second (23:19.0) place, respectively. 
• Colvin Oehmig raced as an unattached runner in 2022, winning the 5K event.
• The Panthers have won two-straight meets to begin the 2023 season.

Middlebury travels to Bard next weekend for the Fred Pavlich Invitational with a starting time of 12:30 p.m.
