Men’s Cross Country Grabs Top-Eight Spots to Earn Aldrich Invitational Crown

Benjamin Hughes won his second-straight career race.
The Middlebury men's cross country team grabbed the top-eight spots at the Aldrich Invitational to win the team title. The Panthers recorded 15 points, while Norwich came in second place with 62 points.

HIGHLIGHTS
  • Benjamin Hughes earned his second career victory in as many weeks, stopping the clock in 26:33.8 to claim the individual crown.
  • Just behind in second place was Alec Gironda, recording a time of 26:42.8.
  • Finishing in third and fourth, respectively, were Drew Donahue (26:52.5) and Shef West (27:07.5). 
  • Harry Griff and Liam Edson rounded out the scorers, finishing with identical times of 28:19.4.
  • Also cracking the top 10 was Raymond Pavlik, placing 10th overall (28:46.2). 
NOTES
  • Luke Lorenz '23 and Zander Kessler '23 finished in fifth (27:39.3) and eighth (28:27.1), respectively. 
  • The Panthers have won two-straight meets to kick off the 2023 season.
Middlebury travels to Bard next weekend for the Fred Pavlich Invitational with a starting time of 11:30 a.m.
