Men’s Track and Field Records Highest GPA In Country

The 2023 men's track and field team led all of Division III with a 3.78 cumulative GPA.

The Middlebury men's track and field team was named an all-academic squad by the U.S Track & Field & Cross Country Association (USTFCCCA), leading all of Division III with a 3.78 cumulative grade point average (GPA). Max Cluss, Alec Gironda, Peter Hansen and Zander Kessler were each lauded with individual USTFCCCA All-Academic accolades.

This is the second-consecutive year that the Panthers have finished with the highest cumulative GPA in Division III and is the third time in the last six seasons.

To be named an all-academic athlete, student-athletes must maintain a minimum GPA of 3.30 on a 4.0 scale through the most recently completed grading period and finish the year ranked in the top-50 individually or in the top-35 as a relay.
