Middlebury's Sean McGarrity of the men's golf team wrapped up play at the NCAA Championships on Friday. The Panther began competition on Tuesday with the team, and despite the squad not making the cut to move on to rounds three and four, McGarrity's first two rounds allowed him to continue as an individual.
 
HIGHLIGHTS

• McGarrity led the team during the first round, firing a three-under-par 69 and finishing in a tie for seventh, two shots behind the leader. McGarrity tallied six birdies on the day, including four on the front nine holes to move into the top 10.
• On day two, McGarrity shot a 76. He birdied holes eight and nine to finish in a tie for 25th place as an individual with a two-day score of 145.
• The Panther carded a 79 on Thursday and a 78 on Friday to combine for a total of 302. With his score, McGarrity finished in a three-way tie for 69th place.  

NOTES

• McGarrity's six birdies on opening day were tied for third most on the day.
• Middlebury won its 10th NESCAC Championship to earn an automatic bid to the tournament. 
• This marked the program's eighth appearance at the NCAA Championships, and first for McGarrity.
