The Middlebury men's golf team leads the field of 10 schools after the first day of the NESCAC Championship weekend. The Panthers tallied a 289 which is nine points fewer than the next squad Tufts (298).

- Sean McGarrity, Hogan Beazley and Anthony King each finished the opening round with a one-over-par 72, sitting in an all-Panther tie at fourth place.
- McGarrity and Beazley both had four birdies, including the final par 5.
- King also notched four birdies, highlighted by three on the front nine.
- Colin McCaigue was one shot back with a 73, which is currently a five-way tie for seventh. He tallied birdies on holes two, three and five.
- Charlie Schulman is tied for 33rd after the first round. He had a birdie on the front and back nines, recording a 78 for day one.
NOTES
- A pair of Jumbos' golfers and one Amherst Mammoth are in a three-way tie for first with an even 71 par.
The Panthers and the rest of the squads return to action on Sunday morning, with the NESCAC Champion being crowned in the afternoon.
