Men’s Golf Finishes As Runner-Up at Williams Spring Invitational

Charlie Schulman shot a 77 to tie for 11th overall.
The Middlebury men's golf team finished in the runner-up spot following Saturday's action at the Williams Spring Invitational. The Panthers scored a 305 as a team on the opening day. Hamilton won the event with a 302 and Amherst finished third (306). The second day of the event was canceled due to inclement weather.

HIGHLIGHTS
  • Hogan Beazley led the way for Middlebury, firing a score of 75 to finish in tie for third place.  
  • Anthony King finished in a tie for sixth, carding a 76.
  • Charlie Schulman and Colin McCaigue each finished one stroke behind King. Both golfers put together scores of 77 in the opening round to tie for 11th overall.
  • Sean McGarrity was next to finish for the Panthers, placing tied for 16th with a  78. 
  • Paul Fine-Lease rounded out the scorers for Middlebury, finishing two strokes behind McGarrity. Fine-Lease's 80 in the first round was good for a tie for 24th place.
The Panthers will be back in action on April 29-30 when they head to Martindale Country Club in Auburn, Maine for the NESCAC Championships hosted by Bates.
