Women’s Golf Breaks Pair of School Records En Route to Third Place Finish at Martin and Wallace Invitational

Elizabeth Kenter was one of three Panthers to finish in the top-10 at the Martin and Wallace Invitational.

The Middlebury women's golf team shot a school-record 293 on Sunday to claim third place at the Martin and Wallace Invitational hosted by Cortland. The Panthers finished with a two-day score of 592, which was also a school record. Williams won the event with a combined score of 582, while Amherst earned second place with a total of 585.

HIGHLIGHTS

Katie Murphy led the way for Middlebury, finishing in a tie for fourth place with a two-day score of 146. Murphy opened play with a 76, before shooting two-under-par 70 on Sunday.
Audrey Tir finished just one shot behind Murphy, firing a combined score of 147 (74-73) to place seventh overall.
Elizabeth Kenter shot an even-par 72 on the first day of the invitational, followed by a 76 to finish in a tie for eighth place (148).
Morgan Lee rounded out the scorers for the Panthers, posting a two-day score of 151 to finish tied for 11th. Lee bettered her day-one score (77) by three strokes to finish the weekend on a high note.

NOTES

Murphy's 70 on Sunday was tied for the best round of the tournament.
Today's event marked the first time this season that Middlebury had three scorers in the top-10.
The previous single-day (295) and two-day (594) school records were set at the 2021 NESCAC Qualifier.
The Panthers will be back in action on Saturday, April 22 when they travel to Amherst for the Jack Leaman Invitational.
