The fifth-ranked Middlebury men's tennis team won its sixth-straight match on Saturday, topping #20 Colby 8-1. 
 
HIGHLIGHTS

• Middlebury tandem Aidan Harris and Noah Laber jumped out to a 5-2 lead and never looked back, claiming an 8-3 victory at the top of the lineup for a 1-0 early edge.
• In the third spot, Julian Wu and Joe Mairs trailed 6-4, but started a comeback attempt. The Panthers cut the deficit to one (7-6), but the Colby duo Joey Barrett and Aidan Kwong secured the 8-6 win to make the match 1-1.
• Middlebury's Neel Epstein and Robby Ward gave the visitors a 2-1 edge with an 8-6 triumph at #2.
• Zihao Yuan surrendered just one game in the sixth spot, cruising past his opponent 6-0, 6-1 to extend the Panther advantage to 3-1.
• Robby Ward (#4) and Epstein (#3) each picked up straight-set victories to clinch the match for Middlebury.
• In the fifth spot, Wu won 7-5, 6-2, followed by Harris (7-6(3), 6-1) at #2 for the 7-1 lead.
• Laber closed out the match with a hard-fought battle at the top of the lineup. Laber fell in a tiebreak in the initial set, but came back to win 6-4 in the second and 10-5 in the super tiebreaker for the 8-1 final. 

NOTES

• Wu claimed his 10th victory of the spring and 17th-straight triumph, improving to 19-2 overall in his rookie campaign.
• The Epstein and Ward duo won its fifth-consecutive match, while Laber earned his fifth triumph in a row during singles action.
• The programs met for the 12th time, with Middlebury continuing its unbeaten streak against the Mules.

 
The Panthers have a quick turnaround, traveling to #12 Bowdoin on Sunday for a 10:00 a.m. start.
