Kennedy Sets School Record In Heptathlon On Final Day of New England’s

Hayes was a member of the 4x400 relay.
Middlebury's Quinn Kennedy set a school record in the heptathlon on the final day of the Division III New England Championship. Massachusetts Institute of Technology won the meet with 159 points, followed by Williams (94 points) and Amherst (64 points). The Panthers finished in 13th place out of 25 schools, recording 21 points. 
 
HIGHLIGHTS
  • Kennedy finished in fourth place during the heptathlon with a school-record 4,360 points. He won the shot put (11.99m), the 60-meter hurdles (8.70 seconds) and the 1,000 (2:53.24). 
  • Max Cluss also earned All-New England honors, placing fourth in the mile with a clocking of 4:09.98.
  • The 4x400 relay quartet (Colin Breen, Xander Swann, Luke Hayes and Peter Hansen) placed fifth with a time of 3:21.59.
  • Closing out the all-region finishers was Aidan Castanon who placed seventh in the 60 dash with a personal-best time of 7.02 seconds.
 Several Panthers will travel to Tufts on March 4 for the National Qualifying Meet, with the NCAA Championship field being announced on March 5.
