Men’s Squash Eases Past Hamilton 7-2

Julian Sandoval picked up his 11th win of the season in the victory.
The Middlebury men's squash team downed Hamilton 7-2 on Saturday afternoon to advance to the consolation final of the Summers Cup. The Panthers will match up with Bates for fifth place overall at 2:30 p.m.
 
HIGHLIGHTS
  • Julian Sandoval opened the day with a sweep in the seventh slot (3, 9, 5) to give the Panthers a 1-0 edge.
  • In the middle of the ladder, Kian Kardestuncer followed suit, shutting out his opponent 3-0 (3, 4, 6) to give Middlebury a 2-0 lead.
  • Nathan Feinstein increased the advantage to 3-0 following a victory at #1.
  • In the eighth spot, Alexis Ballo picked up a three-game win by identical 11-3 triumphs to build a 4-0 lead.
  • PK Keller clinched the match for the Panthers. After dropping the first game, Keller responded by winning the next three (7-11, 11-5, 11-7, 11-9) to secure the contest. 
  • Hamilton tallied points at #2 and #9 to make the score 5-2.
  • Theo Kogan earned a sweep in the sixth spot (11-9, 11-7, 11-7), while Caleb Boateng eased to a three-game triumph (12-10, 11-7, 11-7) to close out the 7-2 victory for Middlebury.
NOTES
  • Sandoval and Kogan each recorded their 11th wins of the season.
  • Keller has now won 31 career matches, and has a team-best 13 victories this season.
