Middlebury Finishes Fourth At EISA Championships

Michel Macedo finished 15th during Saturday's slalom.
The Middlebury alpine and nordic ski teams finished in fourth place at the EISA Championships with 688 points. The University of Vermont won the event with 970 points, while Dartmouth was second (891 points) and New Hampshire finished third (731 points). The event also served as the St. Lawrence Carnival and was held in Lake Placid, New York.
 
NORDIC HIGHLIGHTS
  • The Panther men finished third in the 20K classic with 100 points. Logan Moore paced the squad with a fifth-place finish, stopping the clock in 55:09.2.
  • The next three Middlebury finishers finished within a second of each other. Jack Christner led the group, clocking in at 55:39.1 for ninth place.
  • Willson Moore and Sam Hodges finished with identical times of 55:39.7, as W. Moore earned 10th and Hodges was 11th. 
  • Leading off the morning in the women's 20K classic was Charlotte Ogden, finishing in seventh place out of 55 skiers with a time of 1:03:57.8. 
  • Shea Brams placed 13th with a clocking of 1:04:42.4, while Quincy Massey-Bierman rounded out the scorers in 19th place (1:07:23.8). 
  • Crossing the line just behind Massey-Bierman was Mica Bodkins in 20th (1:08:07.1) 
  • The Middlebury women tallied 90 points in the event to finish fourth.
ALPINE HIGHLIGHTS
  • The women's alpine squad finished in third place in the slalom with 94 points.
  • The group was paced by Sofia Yubero, who placed seventh with a two-run time of 1:55.77.
  • Mika-Anne Reha was next for Middlebury, combining for a ninth-place effort of 1:55.90.
  • Rounding out the top-three was Alexandra Cossette in 16th (1:57.23).
  • Panther Ali Nullmeyer had the fastest first-run time of the day at 56.3.
  • On the men's side, Michel Macedo was 15th with a combined clocking of 1:50.50 to lead the team to a fifth-place showing (67 points) in the discipline.
  • Axel Bailey placed 20th (1:51.05), while Sebastian Segre recorded a two-run time of 1:51.78 to finish in 26th.
Selected Panthers will take part in the NCAA Championships from March 8-11 in Lake Placid, New York. The four-day national championship will be hosted by St. Lawrence University, with the field being announced next week.
