Skiing Finishes Third At Williams Carnival

Jack Christner placed sixth in the 10K freestyle.
The Middlebury alpine and nordic ski teams finished in third place at the Williams Carnival with 710 points. The University of Vermont won the event with 887 points, while Dartmouth was second (772 points).
 
NORDIC HIGHLIGHTS
  • Leading off the morning in the men's 10K freestyle was Jack Christner, finishing in sixth place out of 83 skiers with a time of 22:10.3. 
  • Logan Moore placed 10th with a clocking of 22:30.4, while Willson Moore rounded out the scorers in 14th place (22:38.7). 
  • Charlotte Ogden paced the women with a ninth-place finish, stopping the clock in 12:33.4 in the 5K freestyle.
  • The second Middlebury finisher was Shea Brams, clocking in at 12:37.8 for 12th place.
  • Maggie Wagner had a breakout race, placing in the top-15 spots for the first time this year. The rookie finished 14th with a time of 12:42.7.  
ALPINE HIGHLIGHTS
  • The women's alpine squad finished in third in the giant slalom on Saturday.
  • The group was paced by Alexandra Cossette, who placed sixth with a two-run time of 1:41.47.
  • Sophia Tozzi was next for Middlebury, combining for a clocking of 1:42.39, which was good for 12th place.
  • Rounding out the top-three was Mika-Anne Reha in 17th (1:42.86).
  • On the men's side, Axel Bailey was 13th with a combined clocking of 1:38.33.
  • Michel Macedo placed 27th (1:39.53), while Nico Richeda recorded a two-run time of 1:45.95.
 The ski teams travel to Wilmington, New York next weekend for the EISA Championships hosted by St. Lawrence University.
