Lily Siemasko recorded a pair of personal best times.
The Middlebury women's swimming and diving team had seven personal best performances on the third day of the NESCAC Championship, as 18 individuals advanced to the night session. Tufts continues to lead after three days of competition (1,414.5 points), followed by Williams (1,193.5), Amherst (845), Bowdoin (831) and the Panthers (749.5).
HIGHLIGHTS
- In the first event of the night session, Chloe Katz touched the wall in 10:19.66 to place fourth in the 1,000-yard freestyle.
- Elise Scott earned 22 points for Middlebury in the 100 butterfly, clocking in at 56.92 for an eighth-place showing.
- Kate Wohl posted back-to-back personal best times in the 400 individual medley. In the morning, Wohl recorded a clocking of 4:39.78, before posting a time of 4:37.82 in the consolation final to finish in 14th. Haley Hutchinson was one spot back finishing in 4:37.99.
- In the 200 free, Louise Hay and Hannah Baumgartner finished in 12th (1:54.16) and 14th (1:54.48), respectively.
- Isabella Caddeau finished in seventh place in the 100 backstroke, touching the wall in 58.03. Maddy Reid finished first in the consolation final and ninth overall with a personal best time of 57.43.
- In her rookie debut, Lia Smith placed fifth overall off the 3-meter diving board. Smith recorded an NCAA "B" cut total of 436.75 points.
- The Panthers capped the night with a sixth-place showing in the 200-medley relay. Reid, Zoe Tray, Caddeau and Lily Siemasko combined for a time of 1:45.70.
NOTES
- Siemasko recorded a personal best clocking of 57.98 in the 100 butterfly during the morning session, but erased that time in the consolation final (57.67).
- Asa Stone clocked in at 57.47 in the 100 butterfly in the morning, which was a personal record time.
Middlebury competes in the final day of the NESCAC Championship on Sunday, with preliminaries starting at 10:00 a.m.
