Moore & Brams Earn Podium Places; Panthers Second After Day One of Harvard Carnival

Logan Moore placed sixth in the men's Classic 10K event.

The Middlebury nordic and alpine skiing teams opened the Harvard Carnival on Friday with the Classic 10K and giant slalom events. Five Panthers earned top-10 place finishes, with Shea Brams and Willson Moore leading the way, each scoring spots on the podium in the 10K race.

NORDIC HIGHLIGHTS

Brams finished the 10K course in a time of 32.31.3, placing third in a field of 88 skiers. The Panther has earned a spot on the podium a trio of times this year.
Quincy Massey-Bierman was next to cross the finish line for Middlebury, finishing 14th with a clocking of 33:48.8.
Just one spot back, Charlotte Ogden rounded out the scorers for the women with a time of 33:55.8.
Moore paced the men's squad, earning his first podium of the season by placing third in 28:43.9.
Logan Moore was next for the Panthers, stopping the clock at 29:00.1 for sixth place.
Middlebury's final scorer was Sam Hodges, who crossed the finish line in eighth place with a time of 29:31.6.

ALPINE HIGHLIGHTS

In the giant slalom (GS), Alexandra Cossette led the way for the Panthers, with a two-run time of 2:06.45 to earn seventh place.
Emma Hall and Mika-Anne Reha rounded out the scorers for Middlebury, finishing in 19th and 20th with times of 2:07.63 and 2:07.84, respectively.
Charlie Lang was first to cross the line on the men's side, placing 14th with a two-run time of 2:03.42.
One spot behind him, Bradshaw Underhill posted a combined time of2:03.50.
Axel Bailey was the final scorer for the Panthers, completing his two trips down the mountain in 2:03.78 to claim 17th place.

NOTES

After one event, the Panthers sit in second place overall with a score of 365 points.

Middlebury will participate in the nordic relay and slalom on Saturday to round out the Harvard Carnival.
