Memeger ’22 and Rigoli Added to Track & Field Coaching Staff

Middlebury has announced the hiring of Max Memeger '22 and Jake Rigoli as assistant track and field coaches. Memeger returns to Middlebury after working as a Geologist, while Rigoli recently graduated from Plymouth State.

"We are very fortunate to have Jake and Max join our staff," said head coach Martin Beatty. "When it comes to throwing technique and lifting, Jake is wise beyond his years. He was a great thrower in his own right and brings a new perspective. I am proud to have Max, a top former Middlebury athlete, return to help coach our hurdlers. Max was multi-talented, and as a star athlete, he will be able to assist with the jumpers as well."

"I am excited to return to Middlebury with the opportunity to coach at the same program I participated in," said Memeger. "I am honored to join such a great coaching staff and am looking forward to the coming season."

Memeger was a former captain during his senior season and participated in sprinting and jumping events. The Panther secured All-Region, All-New England and All-NESCAC honors in the long jump, and had set a school record in the event.

Rigoli was the most decorated field athlete in Plymouth State history. He is a two-time USTFCCCA Indoor All-American in the weight throw and was the only Panther in school history to qualify for the NCAA Championships, doing so during the indoor and outdoor season. Rigoli also holds school records at Plymouth State in the hammer throw, weight throw and discus.
