Rookie Audrey MacLean Earns All-American Accolades

Audrey MacLean earned All-American honors in her first season at Middlebury.
Audrey MacLean of the #25 Middlebury women's cross country team concluded her incredible first-year campaign by earning U.S. Track and Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) All-American accolades at last weekend's NCAA Championship.

HONOREE HIGHLIGHTS
  • MacLean put together a superb performance at the national meet on Saturday. The Panther was near the front of the pack throughout the entire race and crossed the finish line in 10th place with a time of 21:20.1.
  • MacLean was the only rookie runner to finish in the top-14 spots of this year's NCAA Championship.
  • This season, MacLean secured runner-up honors in both the NESCAC Championship and the NCAA Mideast Regional Championship. During the regional race, she set a collegiate-best clocking of 20:56.1, breaking the 21-minute mark for the first time in her career.
  • The Panther was named to the All-NESCAC First Team, NESCAC Rookie of the Year, and was awarded conference performer of the week honors on two occasions this fall.
  • In her first season at Middlebury, MacLean crossed the finish line in the top-10 spots in every race that she competed in, and placed in the top-three in all but two events.
MacLean will continue her athletic year, competing in indoor track and field when the team begins in January 2024.
