The Middlebury men’s ice hockey program begins its season on Friday, November 17 with a NESCAC contest at Colby. The eight-time NCAA Champions welcome back a solid core of returning players along with seven first-years who will battle for ice time. 

Captain Chris Garbe returns for his final season after finishing with four goals and two assists last winter. Garbe is joined by returning forwards Andrej Hromic (5G, 7A) who tallied a pair of game-winning goals, along with Jin Lee (5G, 5A) and Paddy Bogart (3G, 4A). Hromic led the squad in points a season ago, while Lee will serve as one of the program’s assistant captains this winter.

Patrolling the blueline this season will be Nolan Moore. The assistant captain paced the team with seven goals last winter to go along with three assists for 10 points and will anchor the defensive unit. Highlighting Moore’s output was a hat trick in the overtime 3-2 victory at nationally-ranked Norwich.

Joining Moore will be Ryan Pineault (2G, 4A) along with Jake Horoho in goal. Horoho played the majority of the minutes for Middlebury last season, recording an .894 save percentage and 445 saves.

Interim head coach Jack Ceglarski takes over the program after serving as the assistant coach for the past two seasons. He is joined on the bench by Jack Fitzgerald for the 2023-24 campaign.
