#4 Women’s Tennis Competes At Polar Bear Invitational

The Panthers posted strong results this weekend at the Polar Bear Invitational.
Box Score The fourth-ranked Middlebury women's tennis team continued its fall schedule at the Polar Bear Invitational hosted by Bowdoin. The weekend featured a hidden dual format with Skidmore, #13 Babson, the Panthers and the 25th-ranked hosts competing in the event.
 
HIGHLIGHTS
  • Ananya Annapatula, Nina Farhat, Anna Lardner and Lulu Wu each were a perfect 2-0 during singles play. The victories by Annapantula, Farhat and Wu came in straight sets against Bowdoin and Skidmore.
  • Also earning individual wins for Middlebury were Kavina Amin, Amy Delman and Gena Huang.
  • During doubles action, the Panthers went a combined 8-2 over the weekend including a sweep of all four of Saturday's matches against the Thoroughbreds.
  • The tandems of Huang and Wu as well as Annapantula and Farhat both posted unbeaten 2-0 marks during wins against the Polar Bears and Skidmore. 
  • The duo of Sahana Raman and Delman went 2-1, highlighted by convincing 8-1 and 8-2 triumphs.
  • Picking up victories as doubles teams were teammates Sami Remis and Lardner, as well as Charlotte McCann and Amin. 
NOTES
  • Lardner surpassed the 20-win plateau (21-8) for her career in singles.
  • Wu's two triumphs move her individual record as a Panther to 26-10. 
  • The doubles teams of Annapantula and Farhat along with Delman and Raman both notched their respective 10th victories as pairs during the fall season. 
Delman and Raman will represent the Panthers at the ITA Cup in Rome, Georgia next week. The duo will compete in the doubles draw along with pairs from around the country, while the rest of the team will compete at the three-day Middlebury Invitational next weekend.
