The Panthers recorded solid results against numerous top-25 teams this weekend.
Box Score The third-ranked Panther men's tennis team closed out the team portion of its fall schedule by competing in the East vs. the Rest Invitational hosted by Skidmore. The tournament featured seven Division III teams, five of which are ranked in the top-25 spots nationally, competing in singles and doubles action.
HIGHLIGHTS
- In singles play, Nikky Kondamuri and Thehan Wijemanne each reached the semifinal in the "C" draw. Kondamuri outlasted Tai McDonald of Wesleyan (6-3, 2-6, 10-7), edged top-seeded Milan Gonela of Denison (6-4, 7-6 (7)) before falling in the semifinals. Wijemanne eased past Skidmore's Harrison Gradin in straight sets (6-0, 6-2), defeated Denison's Colin Gromley and bowed out in the semifinals.
- In the "A" bracket, Neel Epstein (6-4, 6-1) and Nathan Jackson (6-4, 6-3) both won their opening matches in straight sets before bowing out in the quarterfinals.
- Earning a three-set victory in the "B" bracket was Noah Lewis, winning by scores of 6-3, 4-6, 10-3 over Lachie Macintosh of Tufts.
- The Middlebury tandem of Epstein and Lewis was victorious against the Jumbo duo of Derin Acaroglu and Macintosh in the "A" doubles draw.
NOTES
- Epstein tallied his 40th career singles victory (40-22), while Jackson picked up his 15th (15-7).
- The invitational featured #2 Tufts, fifth-ranked Claremont-Mudd-Scripps, #15 Denison and 22nd-ranked Massachusetts Institute of Technology to go along with the Panthers.

Hugh Hentschel and Wijemanne will represent Middlebury at the ITA Cup in Rome, Georgia next week. Wu will compete in the singles draw, while Hentschel and Wijemanne will play in the doubles competition.
