#25 Middlebury Qualifies For NESCAC Championship

Middlebury has qualified for the championship in each year it has been hosted.
The 25th-ranked Middlebury women's golf team slogged through rainy conditions to qualify for the 2024 NESCAC Championship. The Panthers edged out Bowdoin, shooting a 640 to the Polar Bears' score of 641, to take the fourth and final slot for the spring event.

HIGHLIGHTS
  • Finishing in a two-way tie for 10th place was Morgan Lee, shooting a combined score of 157. Lee's 77 on Saturday was the 10th-lowest total of the day.
  • Sophia Hwang was the next finisher for Middlebury, carding a weekend total of 160 (81-79).
  • Just behind in a three-way tie for 23rd was Audrey Tir (82-80-162). 
  • Ella Han and Mia Politano rounded out the scorers, finishing with combined scores of 163 and 170, respectively.
NOTES
  • The 14th-ranked Williams squad won the event and earned the right to host the championship with a two-day score of 599 (305-294), while #12 Amherst (611) and Hamilton (614) rounded out the qualifiers for the spring event.
  • Women's golf became a NESCAC-sponsored sport for the 2015-16 season, and Middlebury has qualified for the conference championship in each year since its inception. 
The Panthers conclude the fall portion of their schedule, and will be idle until the spring session begins.
