MacLean’s Runner-Up Finish Powers #25 Middlebury To Third Place At NESCAC Championship

Tatum Peskin finished 31st and set a new personal-best by more than a minute.
The 25th-ranked Middlebury women's cross country team posted a third-place finish at the NESCAC Championship hosted by Amherst. The 10th-ranked Williams squad earned its fourth-straight league title with 40 points, followed by #14 Amherst (71 points) and the Panthers (99 points).

HIGHLIGHTS
  • MacLean led the way for Middlebury with her runner-up effort. She crossed the finish line with a time of 21:18.9.
  • Bea Parr continued her strong season, recording a fourth-place and personal-best clocking of 22:08.4. 
  • Posting a top-25 effort was Kate Ratcliffe who climbed four spots following the first split to finish in 21st (23:10.0).
  • Rounding out the scorers for the Panthers were Tatum Peskin in 31st (23:32.0) and Victoria Fawcett in 48th (23:48.2), respectively. Peskin's time was a personal best by more than a minute, while Fawcett improved her position by nine spots following the initial split.
NOTES
  • MacLean and Parr each earned All-NESCAC First Team accolades with their respective finishes, while MacLean was named Rookie of the Year.
The Panthers are idle until November 11 when they compete at the NCAA MidEast Regional Championship.
