#20 Men’s Cross Country Finishes Fourth At NESCAC Championships

The 20th-ranked Middlebury men's cross country team finished in fourth place at the NESCAC Championships. Reigning champion and fifth-ranked Williams claimed its fourth-straight title with 43 points, followed by Amherst (58 points), 14th-ranked Tufts (90 points) and the Panthers (96 points).

HIGHLIGHTS
  • Alec Gironda was part of the front of the pack throughout the race, finishing in fourth place with a clocking of 25:24.3. 
  • Next for the Panthers was Ziggy Goddard who climbed five spots over the final stretch of the race. Goddard crossed the line in 12th with a time of 25:38.1.
  • Right behind Goddard was Drew Donahue, placing 15th with a clocking of 25:52.8. 
  • Rounding out the scorers were Benjamin Hughes (26:13.6) and Peter Burke (26:43.9), placing 25th and 44th, respectively. 
NOTES
  • Gironda earned All-NESCAC First Team honors with his finish, while Goddard landed a spot on the second team.
The Panthers are idle until November 11 when they compete at the NCAA MidEast Regional Championship.
