HIGHLIGHTS
- Middlebury took the early lead 8:31 into the first half. Gavin Randolph won a loose ball inside the Tufts 18-yard box. He centered a pass to Tyler Payne who evaded Jumbo goalie Nikola Antic and tapped the ball into the back of the net to make it 1-0.
- The hosts increased their advantage 3:44 later. Kyle Nilsson dribbled up the middle of the pitch and sent a through ball to a charging Randolph who blasted a left-footed attempt that found the bottom portion of the goal.
- The Panther defense made chances hard to come by for Tufts in the opening half. The Jumbos' best bid came with 5:33 remaining when a shot from Ethan Feigin was saved by Grady on his right post.
- Applying early pressure in the offensive zone, the Panthers pushed the lead to three goals after 3:05 in the second half when Payne drew a foul in the box. Saint-Louis stepped up to the spot and blasted a left-footed attempt that found the right side of the net for the 3-0 lead.
- Tufts pressed forward looking to break through over the remainder of the contest, but the Middlebury defensive unit limited the Jumbo scoring chances.
