Women’s Tennis Closes Out Fall Season With Home Tournament

Kavina Amin won three singles and two doubles matches over the weekend.
Box Score The fourth-ranked women's tennis team closed out the fall season by hosting the Middlebury Panther Challenge. The squad entertained Colby, Skidmore and Williams over the three-day span. 
 
HIGHLIGHTS
  • Kavina Amin won three singles matches over the weekend. She posted a 6-1, 6-1 victory over Colby's Jade Finestone on Friday, before claiming three-set come-from-behind triumphs over Williams' Mia Thoman and Skidmore's Katherine Almquist.
  • Charlotte McCann and Anna Lardner each won a pair of singles contests. McCann topped Mule Michaela Landry (6-2, 6-3) and Thoroughbred Katelyn Corpuz (6-3, 6-1). On Friday, Lardner outlasted Colby's Maddie Omnicioli (1-6, 6-1, 6-2), before topping Marguax Molyneux of Williams 6-3, 6-2 on Saturday.
  • Ananya Annapantula, Nina Farhat, Gena Huang, Sami Remis and Lulu Wu each tallied a victory in singles action over the three-day span.
  • Huang and Wu highlighted doubles play  with a 3-0 mark. The pair topped Colby's Sydney Landeau and Amelie Gal 8-1, and won twice against Skidmore's Konika Dhull and Katie Wong by scores of 8-4 and 8-7(3). 
  • Tandem Amin and McCann triumphed 8-4 over Mules' Omnicioli and Bella Suk, and blanked Skidmore's Suhani Sabharwal and Coco Prokop 8-0. 
  • The duo of Lardner and Remis earned an 8-1 victory over Colby's Omnicioli and Finestone, before easing past Skidmore's Prokop and Geiss 8-2 to close out the weekend.
NOTES
  • Huang and Wu have won five straight doubles matches. 
  • Amin and McCann improved to 6-0 as a tandem. 
The Panthers are idle now until the spring season begins in March.
