Griffis & Rickenbacher Shine Against Colby

Jason Rickenbacher won both diving events.
Middlebury men's swimmer Riley Griffis and diver Jason Rickenbacher both tallied a pair of first-place finishes against Colby. The Mules won the duel meet with 162.5 points, while the Panthers finished with 130.5 points.
 
HIGHLIGHTS
  • Griffis touched the wall first in the 200-yard freestyle (1:42.03) and in the 500 free (4:42.70).
  • Off the diving boards, Rickenbacher placed first off the 1-meter (240.89 points) and 3-meter (191.71 points). Ran Brown finished with runner-up honors off the 1-meter board, tallying 222.90 points.
  • Matthew Hensel stopped the clock in 55.16 in the 100 individual medley (IM).
  • The quartet of Aidan McKenrick, Andrew Dou, Christopher Pedersen and Samuel Hughes claimed the top spot in the 200 free relay with a time of 1:26.67.
  • Dou and Pedersen teamed up with Hensel and Chris Weber in the 200 medley relay, finishing in second place with a clocking of 1:36.93.
  • In the 1,000 free, Luke McNamara earned second place with a time of 9:59.46, less than a second behind the top finisher.
  • Other second-place finishes came from Hughes in the 50 backstroke (24.92), Hensel in the 100 breaststroke (1:01.19), Dou in the 50 fly (23.53) and Sam Pelletier in the 100 IM (57.19). 
NOTES
  • The Panthers continue NESCAC competition on Sunday, traveling to Bates for an 11:00 a.m. start.
