23rd-Ranked Men’s Squash Continues Best Start In Program History

Alex Stimpson earned a three-game victory at #9.
The 23rd-ranked Middlebury men's squash team continued its best start in program history with an 8-1 triumph over host Dickinson. The match was the second in as many days for the Panthers, with Middlebury rounding out its weekend on Sunday. 
 
HIGHLIGHTS
  • The Panthers claimed victories in the first eight matches to finish during the win over the Red Devils.
  • The initial three wins posted by Middlebury came in three games. Julian Sandoval started things off at #6 (13-11, 11-5, 11-7), followed by Alexis Ballo one spot below (11-8, 12-10, 11-2) and Alex Stimpson in the ninth spot (15-13, 11-4, 11-5).
  • Kian Kardestuncer made it a 4-0 lead for the Panthers with an 11-5, 11-2, 9-11, 11-2 win at #4.
  • Will Quiqley recorded the clinching point with an 11-4, 11-6, 11-8 victory at #8.
  • Will Lichstein posted a three-game victory in the second slot (11-7, 11-3, 11-7), while PK Keller outlasted his opponent at #5 in a five-game marathon (11-6, 8-11, 12-10, 5-11, 11-2).
  • Caleb Boateng increased the Middlebury advantage to 8-0 with an 11-9, 11-7, 11-4 win in the third spot.
  • Dickinson picked up its lone point with a five-game triumph in the top position for the final 8-1 score.
NOTES
  • The Panthers have won 46 of 54 matches during the historic start to open the season.
  • Ballo, Kardestuncer, Keller and Quigley are each 6-0 individually, while Theo Kogan is 5-0 and Sandoval is 4-0.
  • Middlebury and Dickinson squared off for just the fourth matchup in the all-time series with the Panthers winning three of the four.
