#22 Panthers Top #19 Amherst On Senior Day

The 22nd-ranked Middlebury men's squash team topped #19 Amherst 5-4 in its final match of the regular season. 
 
HIGHLIGHTS
  • The Mammoths nabbed the initial two points of the day with a 3-0 victory in the sixth spot and a tight 3-2 win at #8.
  • Trailing 2-0 in the third slot, Caleb Boateng battled back to edge his opponent 3-2 and get Middlebury on the board.
  • PK Keller picked up a 3-1 (6-11, 11-7, 11-5, 11-4) victory at #5, knotting the contest 2-2.
  • Amherst pulled ahead with a sweep in the ninth spot, but Nathan Feinstein leveled the match by blanking his opponent 3-0 (6, 6, 7) at the top of the ladder.
  • The Mammoths took a 4-3 edge with a triumph at #4, before Julian Sandoval tied the match with a 3-1 victory in the seventh slot. 
  • The contest came down to the ninth and final match in the second spot, a tightly contested battle. Will Lichstein trailed 2-0, but tallied three-straight wins to clinch the victory for the Panthers. 
NOTES
  • Prior to the start of the match, Middlebury honored seniors Keller and Oliver Leads. 
 The Panthers are idle until the weekend of February 11-12 when they travel to Williamstown, Massachusetts for the NESCAC Tournament.
