Panther Women Split Meet With Continentals And Ephs On Senior Day

The Panther women's swimming and diving team honored its seniors prior to the meet.
The Middlebury women's swimming and diving team earned a split on Senior Day in the Natatorium, outscoring Hamilton 186.5-110.5 before falling to seventh-ranked Williams 197-100.
 
HIGHLIGHTS
  • Maddy Reid was a two-time winner during the backstroke events to lead the Panthers. She raced to the wall first in both the 50 back, leading the field with a time of 27.68, followed by a winning time of 58.89 in the 100 back.
  • A runner-up finish was recorded by Hannah Baumgartner in the 200 freestyle (1:56.94), while Elise Scott was second in the 100 butterfly (58.83).
  • Avery Maxwell stopped the clock with a second-place time of 5:18.80 during the 500 free, just 0.21 seconds ahead of teammate Chloe Katz who was third.
  • Zoe Tray swam to a pair of top-three finishes, touching second in the 50 breaststroke (31.35) and third in the 100 breast (1:08.62).
  • Emma Hall rounded out the second-place efforts with a clocking of 1:08.35 in the 100 breast.
  • Isabel Pentony garnered team points with a third-place showing during the 100 back (59.77).
  • Off the diving boards, Lia Smith posted a second-place total of 271.13 points in the 3-meter event and the Panther was third in the 1-meter event (243.00 points).
