#15 Women’s Squash Edged By #13 Williams

Grace Santoro recorded a four-game win in today's contest.
The 15th-ranked Middlebury women's squash team fell at #13 Williams on Thursday night in a tightly-contested 5-4 match.
 
HIGHLIGHTS
  • The Ephs opened the match with victories in the eighth and third slots.
  • Abbie Peterson halved the deficit, earning a four-game victory (3-11, 11-8, 11-7, 11-8) at #6 to make the score 2-1.
  • Williams regained its two-game advantage with a win at the top of the ladder.
  • At #9, Grace Santoro recorded a four game win (9-11, 11-2, 11-8, 11-7) to bring the Panthers back within one (3-2). 
  • The hosts made the score 4-2 following a triumph in the fifth spot, and clinched the match with another win at #2.
  • In the final two matches of the day, Maya Bardorf and Eva Finney each claimed wins in the seventh and fourth slots, respectively, making the final score 5-4. 
NOTES
  • Bardorf remains perfect on the season, improving her overall record to 7-0.
  • With her victory, Peterson has now won seven matches in a row.
  • The Panthers will return home on Sunday, January 22 to face #11 Tufts.
