#17 Women’s Squash Cruises Past #16 Bowdoin 7-2

Lindsey Burnham tallied a 3-0 sweep in the top spot.
The 17th-ranked Middlebury women's squash team cruised to a 7-2 victory at #16 Bowdoin, extending its winning streak to five-straight matches.
 
HIGHLIGHTS
  • Bowdoin grabbed the day's first point in the second spot with a 3-1 triumph.
  • At #4, Margaux Comai dropped the first game 11-8, but battled back to win three straight (7, 4, 6) to tie the contest 1-1.
  • The seventh slot was a back-and-forth affair. Abbie Peterson found herself down 1-0 after dropping the opening game 11-8. Peterson dug deep, edging her opponent 16-14, 14-12 to take a 2-1 lead. Bowdoin's Mira Karande won 11-9 in the fourth game, but it was Peterson who came away with the clinching 11-9 victory in the fifth game to give Middlebury a 2-1 edge.
  • Caroline Arena made it 3-1 with a clean sweep (8, 7, 8) in the sixth spot.
  • The Polar Bears picked up a point in a five-game thriller at #3, but Middlebury extended its advantage to 4-2 with a shutout (5, 9, 4) in the ninth spot by Kieran Suntha
  • Maya Bardorf and Lindsey Burnham continued the momentum, triumphing 3-0 at #8 and #1, respectively.
  • The final point came down to the fifth game, with Eva Finney prevailing to secure the 7-2 victory. 
NOTES
  • Bardorf and Finney both improved to 4-0 on the season.
  • The Panthers continue their busy weekend at #20 Colby on Saturday, before rounding out competition at #22 Bates on Sunday.
