The Middlebury nordic ski team had a banner season-opening day, with three Panthers finishing in the top-10 places.

HIGHLIGHTS
- Brams completed the 7.5K freestyle course in a time of 21:58.4, placing third in a field of 88 skiers.
- Charlotte Ogden finished in 17th place, crossing the finish line in 23:10.2.
- Just two spots back, Quincy Massey-Bierman rounded out the scorers with a clocking of 23:16.2.
- Logan Moore paced the men's squad in a field of 89 racers, finishing in fourth with a time of 18:31.0.
- Two spots back was Jack Christner, clocking in at 18:51.3 which was good for sixth place in his initial competition as a Panther.
- Sam Hodges crossed the finish line in 13th, stopping the clock in 19:14.5. Â
NOTES
- The men's squad placed third overall (106 points) in the event, while the women were fifth (91 points).
- Following today's competition, Middlebury sits in fourth place of 14 schools with 505 points. Dartmouth leads the field with 636 points.Â
- The alpine squad was slated to compete in the slalom today, but the race was postponed to Saturday due to weather.Â
The Panther nordic team returns to Black Mountain on Saturday for the 10K freestyle.
