23rd-Ranked Men’s Squash Defeats #22 Bowdoin 6-3

Will Quigley was victorious at #8 on Friday.
The 23rd-ranked Middlebury men's squash team got back to its winning ways on Friday, picking up a 6-3 triumph at #22 Bowdoin. The Panthers continue one of the best starts in program history, improving to 7-1 overall.
 
HIGHLIGHTS
  • The Polar Bears took an early lead with a 3-0 victory in the #2 position.
  • Middlebury leveled the contest at 1-1 when Alexis Ballo posted a three-game win (11-7, 11-8, 11-4) in the seventh slot.
  • The Panthers reeled off three-consecutive victories, as Kian Kardestuncer started the run with a four-game triumph (11-13, 15-13, 11-1, 11-9) at #4.
  • Alex Stimpson recorded a 3-0 sweep at the bottom of the ladder (11-9, 12-10, 11-3), while Julian Sandoval followed suit with a shutout (11-7, 11-9, 11-4) in the sixth spot.
  • Bowdoin won in four games at #3, moving to within two (4-2).
  • Will Quigley clinched the match for Middlebury, dropping just five points in the first two games during a three-game triumph (11-4, 11-1, 12-10).
  • PK Keller tallied the sixth point in the middle of the ladder, outlasting his opponent for a 3-0 win (11-6, 16-14, 11-6).
  • Bowdoin claimed its third point in the top spot for the 6-3 final score.
NOTES
  • Kardestuncer and Keller each continued their unbeaten start to the season with identical 8-0 records.
  • The two teams met for the 22nd time with the Panthers owning a 17-5 advantage in the all-time series.
  • Middlebury continues its busy weekend at #21 Colby on Saturday, before concluding its road weekend at #14 Bates on Sunday.
