Men’s Cross Country Finishes Fourth at SLU Hoffmann Invitational

Peter Burke nearly lowered his personal-best time on Saturday.
The Middlebury men's cross country team finished in fourth place with 102 points at the Ronald C. Hoffmann Invitational hosted by Saint Lawrence University. The host Saints won the team title with 24 points, while Vassar (60 points) and Plymouth State (99 points) rounded out the top three.

HIGHLIGHTS
  • Ziggy Goddard was the top finisher for Middlebury, stopping the clock in sixth place (26:41.7).
  • Peter Burke was the second Panther to cross the line, recording a time of 27:16.9 for 16th place, less than a second shy of setting a new personal best.
  • Douglas Rosin (27:46.9) and Lachlan Bishop (27:57.3) finished just over 11 seconds apart in 28th and 34th places, respectively. 
  • Isaac Kaplan completed the scoring for Middlebury, concluding his run in 39th place (28:04.6).
NOTES
  • Middlebury finished fourth or better in its third-straight meet this season after winning the first two. 
  • The course served as a preview for the 2022 NCAA MidEast Championships which will be held at SLU on November 12.
