Parr’s First-Place Finish Leads #17 Middlebury to VTC Maple Syrup Challenge Victory

Bea Parr was crowned the VTC Maple Syrup Challenge champion.
The 17th-ranked Middlebury women's cross country team had nine runners finish in the top-10 at the Vermont Technical College (VTC) Maple Syrup Challenge. Bea Parr was crowned the champion at the Panthers' season-opening meet, leading the squad to the team title.

HIGHLIGHTS
  • Middlebury won the meet with 19 points, followed by Saint Michael's (58 points) and Fitchburg State (83 points).
  • Parr crossed the finish line in first place with a time of 20:05.6.
  • Victoria Fawcett placed third in her debut in the navy and white, stopping the clock in 21:01.17.
  • Kate Ratcliffe and Kate Kenny were right behind in fourth (21:01.35) and fifth place (21:01.54), respectively. 
  • Lily Bulzcynski was the final scorer for Middlebury, placing sixth with a clocking of 21:01.60. 
  • Lucca Franz, Winnie Wang, Josie Dolan and Morgane Orcutt rounded out the top 10, finishing less than 20 seconds apart.
