Middlebury catcher John Collins (New York, N.Y.) of the Panther baseball team has been selected as a Fourth-Team All-American by D3baseball.com. Collins helped propel Middlebury to its second NESCAC Tournament title in program history and advance to the NCAA Regional Final, finishing with a school-record 31 wins (31-14).

Collins was both a D3baseball.com First-Team All-Region 1 and an ABCA/Rawlings All-Region 1 selection. He had a big year for the Panthers at the plate, finishing with a school-record 14 home runs, including a three-homer performance in a win over Amherst. The sophomore averaged .381 for the season with 59 hits, the second-best single-season total in program history. 
 
He added 12 doubles and four triples this spring to go along with 47 RBI. Collins was an All-NESCAC First-Team honoree and excelled in the postseason, being tabbed to the NCAA Tournament All-Regional squad.
