Stan Morris advanced to Sunday's final in the NCAA Men's Tennis Singles Championships with a straight-set quarterfinal victory and a three-set semifinal triumph during Saturday's action. All competitions are being played at the United States Tennis Association (USTA) National Campus in Orlando, Florida.
During Saturday's quarterfinal, Morris edged North Carolina Wesleyan's Jhonny Acosta in the opening set 7-5. Acosta battled in the second set, before Morris earned the 6-3 victory in the second set.
Morris fell 6-3 in the opening set of his semifinal against Pacific's Mason Tran. The Panther rebounded and didn't drop a game (6-0) in the second to level the contest at a set apiece. Morris kept the momentum in his favor during the decisive third set, not surrendering a game for a 3-6, 6-0, 6-0 victory. He will play Vishnu Joshi of Johns Hopkins in Sunday's final beginning at 12:00 p.m.
