Peter Hansen had a phenomenal performance in the 400m hurdles.
Four members of the Middlebury men's track and field team competed in the Williams Final Qualifier on Wednesday afternoon. The meet serves as the last chance for student-athletes to try to qualify for the upcoming NCAA Championships. The top-20 Division III performers in each event at the end of this week will be invited to participate at the championships and will be announced on Friday, May 20.
Heading into the meet,
Peter Hansen was ranked 19th in Division III in the 400-meter hurdles. In a race against himself, Hansen rose to the occasion and smashed his previous time (53.37) from earlier this season, crossing the finish line in 52.72. His new mark currently ranks him seventh in the country, putting him in a great position to earn an invite to the national championships.
Alexander Kessler clocked in at 15:12.97 in the 5,000m,
Quinlan McGaugh crossed the finish line in 3:55.75 in the 1,500m and
Max Memeger lept a distance of 6.02m in the long jump.
