The Panthers finished third at the NESCAC Championships.
The 25th-ranked Middlebury women's golf team fired a 329 on Sunday and finished with a two-day score of 656 to place third at the NESCAC Championships at the Amherst Golf Club. Ninth-ranked Amherst claimed the conference title with a combined score of 610 (303-307), while #6 Williams was second at 621 (308-313). The Panthers hope to be one of the teams selected to compete in the NCAA Championships in Houston, Texas, when the field is announced on Monday.
Jacqueline Slinkard finished in ninth place for the Panthers, firing an 80 on Sunday for a total of 162 on the weekend. She birdied four holes on the final day, including three on the front nine on the par-72 course.
Kaylynn Xia was just two strokes back with a 164 (80-84), posting a par on nine holes during the second day of competition.
Audrey Tir was the next finisher for Middlebury, recording an 80 over the final 18 holes and was 15th with a combined score of 166. Tir birdied the par-4, 355-yard second hole and followed that with a birdie on the par-5 third hole that measured 415 yards. She also recorded eight pars on Sunday.
Elizabeth Kenter (79-88) tied for 16th place with a two-day total of 167, posting a par on five holes in the last round.
Maddy Cordeiro bettered her score from Saturday by six strokes on Sunday with an 85 to finish in 22nd place. She birdied the par-3, 178 yard ninth hole and tallied five pars.
Jessica Huang from Amherst earned NESCAC medalist honors with a score of 146 (73-73).
