Day One Results
The #25 Middlebury women's golf team sits in third place after the opening day of the NESCAC Championships on Saturday with a score of 327. Ninth-ranked Amherst (303) leads the four-team field competing at the Amherst Golf Club, while #6 Williams is in second place (308).
The final day of the tournament is set for Sunday with players teeing off at 9:00 a.m.
Elizabeth Kenter is tied for eighth overall for the Panthers, finishing the day with a seven-over 79 on the par-72 course. She finished with nine pars and picked up a birdie on the 125-yard par-three 13th hole.
Kaylynn Xia was the next Middlebury finisher, placing in a tie for 10th place with an 80 (+8). Xia was steady throughout the round with 12 pars and a birdie on the 15th hole, carding a three on the par-4.
Jacqueline Slinkard was two strokes back with an 82 (+10) and is tied for 13th among the 24 golfers. Her best hole was the 415-yard par-5 third hole where she finished with a birdie.
Audrey Tir finished with an 86, while
Maddy Cordeiro rounded out the scorers with a 91.
Amherst's Jessica Huang leads the field with a +1 73.
