The Middlebury men's golf team finished in second place out of nine teams at the Williams Spring Invite. The host Ephs edged the Panthers, taking the crown with a score of 602. Middlebury was right behind with 604, while Trinity and Hamilton tied for third (612). Competition took place at the Taconic Golf Club. The Panthers defend their 2021 NESCAC title next weekend at the championship event hosted by Hamilton on Saturday and Sunday.
Middlebury had a pair of golfers place in the top-10 spots during the event.
Kenneth Dieker earned the lowest score on Saturday with an even-par 71 and combined for a two-day total of 147 to place second overall.
Colin McCaigue was next for the Panthers, finishing in eighth place with a score of 152 (74-78).
Hogan Beazley,
Phin Choukas and
Anthony King were among five golfers to tie for 13th place with a score of 155.
