Women's Golf Opens Spring At Vassar College Invitational

The Panther women's golf team opened spring play with the first day of the 10-team Vassar College Invitational. Amherst sits in first place after day one with a score of 303, while New York University (307) and Williams (310) round out the top-three teams. Middlebury (325) is in fifth place following the first round. Action took place at the par-72 Casperkill Golf Club in Poughkeepsie, New York. The team wraps up the tournament on Sunday with tee times slated to start at 8:00 a.m.
 
Audrey Tir was Middlebury's top golfer on Saturday, firing a 77 to sit in eighth place following 18 holes. Elizabeth Kenter is tied for 17th place with an 80, while Sophia Hwang is just three shots back with a first-day score of 83 in 32nd place. Mia Politano shot an 85 in the opening round and is in 35th place, while Jacqueline Slinkard is one stroke back in a tie for 36th (86). 
 
Gio Kim of Williams fired an even par round of 72 to lead the individual standings following the initial day, while Amherst's Gihoe Seo and Aliea Clark of NYU are tied for second with 74s.
