Gardner Olson won the javelin and
Zack Sieb claimed the discus as the Middlebury men's track and field team competed at the Point Loma Nazarene University Collegiate Invite on Saturday. The meet concluded the Panther's spring trip to California. They are idle next week before returning to competition on April 9 at the Amherst Spring Fling.
Middlebury swept the javelin with Olson claiming the event (46.44m),
Dan Urchuk in second (43.21m) and
Lucas Donavan-Lafuente rounding out the top-three places with a toss of 43.04m. Sieb won the discus with a toss of 43.48m, while
Samuel Maxwell was right behind in second (40.31m).

Joel Kofman placed second in the pole vault (3.96m),
Caleb Fineske was second in the long jump (6.36m),
Santi Canella finished in third place in the triple jump (12.68) and
Sam McGarrahan was third in the high jump (1.86m).
Sprinter
Aaron Tobias recorded a pair of runner-up finishes, clocking in at 11.16 in the 100-meters, while crossing the finish line in 22.56 in the 200m.
Jefferson Hill stopped the clock at exactly 16.00 seconds in the 110 hurdles to place third.
Quinlan McGaugh earned second in the 1,500 (3:56.19), while
Ziggy Goddard was third in the 3,000 steeplechase (9:39.81). The 4x400 relay quartet of
Connor Randall, Alexander Swann,
Johnny LaFortune and
Finn Warner earned runner-up honors with a time of 3:28.30.
