Billy Curtis scored five goals to help lead the Middlebury men's lacrosse team past Trinity 16-7 on Saturday afternoon. The Panthers (2-2) are back in action on Tuesday when they travel to Union for a 4:30 p.m. start, while the Bantams (1-2) play at Salve Regina on Monday.

Trinity netted the first goal of the game to take a 1-0 lead less than three minutes into play as Connor McCulloch scored on a dish from Cullen Wolff. Knotted 2-2, Curtis tallied an unassisted marker with just 29 second remaining in the opening stanza to give Middlebury a 3-2 edge.

The Panthers tallied four-consecutive goals to start the second frame to extend the lead to 7-2.
Russell Thorndike and
William Ryan each scored, while Curtis tallied two-straight markers to close out the half.

Trinity battled back, scoring four unanswered goals to cut the deficit to one (7-6) with 13:06 to go in the third. Middlebury responded with an eight-goal onslaught that blew the game wide open with a 15-6 advantage before the teams split the final two tallies of the day.

Curtis paced the Panthers with seven points (5G, 2A), while Ryan had a pair of markers and
Tyler Forbes dished out two helpers.
Andrew Ng scooped up a game-high six balls, while Williams Monroe went 10-for-17 at the X. McCulloch led the Bantams with three goals, while Ryan Werner recorded a team-high three helpers. John Cowdrick and Dane Crowley each collected five ground balls.

Finn O'Connor registered 14 stops to earn the win in goal for the Panthers, while Cooper Yaccino made 15 saves for Trinity.
