Max Cluss of the Middlebury men's track and field team competed in the mile at the NCAA Championships on Friday afternoon. He finished in 13th place out of 20 runners, clocking in at 4:11.30 on the JDL Fast Track in Winston-Salem, N.C. 
 
Cluss concludes the indoor season with a program-record time of 4:07.18 in the mile. His teammate Drew Donahue will compete at the championship in the 3,000-meters on Saturday at 4:45 p.m.
